The compact Konica Minolta bizhub press C71cf, designed for narrow web applications and positioned as a mid-range option that fills the gap between entry-level and high-end systems for the short-run label market, is now available locally.

David Cascarino, national manager Industrial Print, Konica Minolta Australia, notes: “The bizhub PRESS C71cf is ideal for label printers who are looking to shift volumes from conventional presses to digital so they can deal with shorter print-run lengths, requests for faster delivery times, personalisation and versioning, and the production of on-demand runs.”

The digital label printer, which offers outstanding productivity, brilliant image quality, operability and economy, is a perfect fit for new market expansion and perfectly complements existing analogue machines.

bizhub PRESS C71CF incorporates the pioneering Simitri HDE dry-toner electro photography printing mechanism featuring low-temperature fusing technology, with full colour (CMYK) support. The machine also offers an impressive printing resolution of 1200 dpi, prints images with a maximum size of 1195 x 320mm and can seamlessly perform printing operations at speeds of up to 18.9 metres per minute, depending on the paper type.

The bizhub PRESS C71cf delivers superb colour, in a wide variety of label formats to make a huge impact on the shelf, and is suited to a wide range of applications across food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and other manufactured products. Labels can be printed on pressure-sensitive paper in gloss, semi-gloss or matte finish, wine stocks, white BOPP, polypropylene in matte or gloss, and other specialty substrates.

Coming with an unwinder and rewinder diameter of 500mm, the end-to-end digital printing solution is capable of variable-data printing (VDP) with support for formats including PPML and PDF-VT. The printer’s cutting edge digital technology offers easy prototyping and customisation as well as the convenience of personalised text and graphics on labels.

Konica Minolta’s engineers have kept the power consumption of the bizhub PRESS C71cf at a bare minimum, keeping in mind the budget constraints of mid-level businesses. The digital press’ simple electrical requirements and its small footprint make for easy installation; the press can be setup in just one day.

“The C71cf ticks all the boxes for short-run label printing in high-quality colour and is ideal for commercial printers looking to expand into the label print market to take advantage of this growing area of print,” says Cascarino.

“The bizhub C71cf demonstrates Konica Minolta’s commitment to helping commercial printers open up new opportunities for revenue in a changing print market by delivering new technologies and innovations that help professional printers produce high quality products that are flexible enough to meet market demand.”
