Pemara was once again the sole representative from Australia among the nine winners of the annual Narrow Web Print Awards which were presented by Flint Group during Labelexpo Americas 2016.
The Narrow Web Print Awards recognise the highest quality printed entries in various categories and technologies such as UV flexo, UV screen, UV LED, shrink sleeve, water-based flexo, specialty inks and coatings. A common trend among the print entries this year was UV LED technology and combination printing.
“Every year, the quality of entries continues to demonstrate that there are no limits when it comes to printing labels,” says Niklas Olsson, Flint Group Narrow Web global brand manager. “As a supplier, we continue to expand the capabilities of our converter clients and push the boundaries of narrow web. We are pleased to see that our customers follow our lead to create fine art which goes beyond the norm through label printing.

Each entry was individually and carefully reviewed by industry experts. Criteria for judging follow the guidelines that are standards set by the industry associations FINAT and TLMI. These included: registration, smoothness of dot/vignette, overall print quality and degree of difficulty.
Pemara joined fellow winners Perflex Label– Canada, Yerecic Label – USA, Uniprint Labels – South Africa, Unique Photo Offset Services – India, Deco Labels & Flexible Packaging – Canada, Consolidated Label – USA, Model Graphics – USA and Alaska Polygrafoformlenie – Russia.
In 2015 Pemara took out the only award given in the UV Flexo In-Mould category for its Kids Funtime Bubble Bath labels, which was considered by the judges to be of the ‘highest print quality, with perfect registration and exceptional use of narrow web printing techniques’.
Flint Group will begin accepting submissions for the 13th annual Narrow Web Print Awards soon after the New Year. Awards and winners will be presented at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels, Belgium.
