Konica Minolta bizhub PRO 1100 wins BLI Award

The bizhub PRO 1100 can manage a heavy print work load

Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRO 1100 production system, an ideal entry product to digital black and white printing that paves the way for new business opportunities, has taken out the Buyer’s Laboratory Inc. (BLI) award for the ‘Outstanding Monochrome Light Production Device’.

Anthony Lewis, general manager of specialist print, Konica Minolta, says, “The Konica Minolta bizhub PRO 1100 has proven pedigree, with the highest reliability and print quality, that makes it the best choice for monochrome production printing. This newly developed system design has been based on continual feedback from our professional print customers to better facilitate the required functionality and capabilities to excel in producing print.”

The bizhub PRO 1100 offers maximum productivity with minimal user intervention, with expected average volumes of between 150,000 and 300,000 prints and peaks up to staggering 2.2 million prints per month. The bizhub PRO 1100 runs at speeds of up to 100 ppm, and is designed to easily manage a heavy print work load with the availability of the Tandem printing functionality, which allows two PRO 1100 systems to be combined, doubling output speeds for the biggest of print jobs on the tightest of deadlines.

Lewis adds, “The unparalleled degree of image quality control lets operators enhance output to meet the expectation of high quality print output. In fact, the device earned BLI’s 5-Star status for its ability to produce fine lines, fonts, solids and halftones under optimal settings. And, with media support up to 300gsm from all drawers, the device also offers a degree of media handling flexibility above and beyond many of its competitors.”

At the heart of the bizhub PRO 1100 performance is Konica Minolta’s exclusive Simitri High Definition Polymerised Toner, which uses smaller and more consistently shaped particles to reproduce fine details with greater precision. Blacks are produced with solid consistency and halftone images are smoothly represented on the printed page. This outstanding output quality is based on a number of advanced technological features producing a genuine resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi, a unique screening technology and customised tone curve adjustments, thanks to the unique Konica Minolta tone curve utility.
